totally agreed -always safety first - but I had 275/40R20 and 315/35R20 Pirellis on my previous X6M50D and was totally satisfied with it - even when driving in "deepest" winter no problem at all for 3 years - that's why I decided to go with this tire set...
And BMW is also offering above mentioned dimensions for the F16 as winter set - why they don't offer it for F85/F86 I have no idea...
