With Racechip on C setting or something it would read around 19.7+ lbs of boost. People had dynoed before and after going from 391awhp to 450 or so. So the marketing numbers of +100hp seem to be fairly accurate when you take into account our 15-17% drivetrain loss. That would be 60awhp increase from the piggy for only 3.5lbs additional boost putting it into that neighborhood of 25awhp per lb boost increase.

I would have to imagine these tunes (BPC went up 127hp on n63tu) are fairly comparable to each other and will be higher than the RC. My stage 1 tune on my 335i would dyno 350 or so over the 288rwhp it had stock with no other mods. I think it can handle a 60-70awhp increase just fine with out anything else.


I read somewhere that stock 50i boost was 16psi. I imagine these tunes are taking that to around 20lbs targeted.

I am debating on splurging on this soon after i get my plugs replaced which are misfiring. Then I can run the same analysis and see what it shows. It is about half as much as the other market tunes.

Very valid points, I too netted 70 awhp from ots stage 1 / agg 93 oct Cobb on my 335xi, went from 260 to 330 awhp. Yeah I would agree 100 to crank but not the wheels, for some strange reason I was thinking 100 wheel hp gain and I was like. I actually want a tune for my x5 and I’m still on the fence about a piggy or flash tune but my car is cpo so still need the reverse it when going to dealer and need assurance that flashing is undectable if something where to go wrong.
