I think it depends. Maybe if you live in a really snowy area then yeah. But I live in DC and it snows maybe 2-3 times a year. I need winter tire performance for cold temps and not necessarily snow. So I chose the Yoko's on my 21" factory rims. Last winter they performed great.

I am fine keeping my car looking fresh on the 21s for 360 days a year and keeping it in the garage on the 4 days a year it's too severe to drive anyways!! lol
