Is this Warranty good?
Hi fellas, i just purchased a 2015 x5 35i with 30k miles(49k km) from local BMW store, warranty is until july 2019. The x5 had rear diff and transfercase leak when it was brought in and fixed by bmw before purchase. Obviously im looking at extended warranty and i understand bmw sells but its way more expensive. I've been looking at this one and the price is really good, covers until july 2022 (7 years 110k miles). Im no mechanic and dont understand which ones are vital. They cover everything except these:
subject to these excluded components:
Shock absorbers
Manual and hydraulic linkages (whats this?)
Manual transmission clutch assembly
Friction clutch disc and pressure plate throw out bearing (whats this?)
Battery; battery/battery pack on
hybrid or electric vehicles
Safety restraint systems (including air
bags and airbag electronics)
Exterior body parts/ornamentation
Exhaust system; emissions system
Glass
Lenses and bulbs
Sealed beams
Weather strips
Paint
Tires/wheels/rims
Upholstery and carpet
The rest of the vehicle components are covered as per the manufacturers standard warranty, including electronics!
What do you think? is this warranty any good? considering its about half of the cost of bmw extended warranty.
