I think the wheel gap isn't going to diminish even if you step up to 285*4. The only real way to decrease the wheel gap is to lower, but you said you are not keen on lowering. My honest opinion is that you will be disappointed with aftermarket wheels on stock height. I'd rather see you run stock wheels w/ spacers on a softer tire while lowered on KWs. Ride quality will be great and you'll have that beefy look.
