If you're having malfunctions with a Glock you might be shooting really dirty ammo or have some mechanical issue. No gun will run without stoppages 100% of the time, but the reason LE uses Glock is primarily the reliability. There are lots of other reasons but they sit in an open holster getting rained and snowed on, pizza sauce and donut sugar (I might as well say that), many officers don't do proper cleaning etc and they work when you need them.

My Glock is by no means a problem child. With the thousands of rounds through it I've only had a few malfunctions. It just seems to be a bit more picky when it comes to ammo then the 1911.
