What's reasonable to spend on a luxury watch?

There are all sorts of rules of thumb for house (~2X annual salary) or car purchases (10% monthly income). What's the rule of thumb for a luxury watch?

I've heard people say anything from 1% (which sounds a little too conservative) to 100% (which sounds hilariously obscene).
