Well, there's nothing like tire choice or oil preference to spark a religious war.

FWIW, I've run with the Hakkapeliitta R2 in the standard sized 19" run flat for the past three seasons, and I would probably get them again. Tread life has been excellent. Handling and noise level is very good, while the ride is a little bit stiffer than the OEM Pirelli Scorpions. In deep snow I feel like I don't have as much bite as I have had with non-run flat Hakkas on previous vehicles. Maybe it's because the tire is fairly wide, or maybe it's because the run flats are so stiff. Either way, I've never come close to getting stuck. I don't think you would need to worry about anything but the worst conditions with these. And when the snow gets that bad, I-70 is probably closed anyway.
