NEED ASSIST: OEM trailer hitch/harness install
Hi guys,
I decided to tackle the trailer hitch module over the holidays since I had some down time. I bought these as well as other accessories:
- F15 X5, F16 X6 Rear Transport Trailer Wiring Harness 82712349500
- Control Unit For Trailer Hitch 71606889589
I had already performed research on the work, on this site and others and from what I could tell the E70 instructions for the trailer module were the ones to use.
When I dug into the details of the instructions, I could tell right away that something wasn't quite right. The harness diagram had some key differences. The E70 instructions have ONE brown ground wire while my F15 harness has THREE, also the 4 red wires have different sub-colors.
I just want to make sure that I do not mis-wire something. Does anyone have experience with this? Are there F15 specific DIY's available?
If someone could point me in the right direction I would be most appreciative. Thanks.
