Is market manipulated short term? Absolutely, especially intraday. But long-term, fundamental still apply, so prices reflect those expectations. For example, oil won't be this cheap forever, and even if it does, companies will adjust. Covid will end sooner than later, and society will return to normal, albeit adjusted, consumption. Etc etc.
