Cleaning the evaporator seems to be extremely easy, not sure why folks are not doing it if they have a musky smell.

You remove couple screws on the driver footwell and remove the temp sensor cap and squeeze in an evap cleaner hose and spray the cleaner in, should be a 10-15min job to get it done.
