I liken it to good ole fashioned Irish Wake. Respect and mourn the loss of dear life yet celebrate their lives and honor. I hope to think that most Americans think of those brave servicemen and women this weekend who died for their country but I don’t know for sure obviously. If I perished in battle I would hope those that knew me would think of me and drink and have fun while doing so. I would also think most lost fighting for the Stars and Stripes felt the same.
Those are the wishes I told my wife when I go, many, many years from now in my bed.
