It's the short trips that's causing the oil consumption. I have the same problem 1 mile to work and back, so I leave early and turn my 1 mile journey into a 15 mile run that seems to work. I asked one of the techs and he asked that specific question. How long is your commute? He told me to increase it, no problem.
