Sounds like wash, clay bar, then what pads/compounds?

I need an idiots guide to detailing a black car. First one I've owned.
From my experience, detailing black car ultimately depends on your OCD level of clean paintwork.

The best way I learned to not incure marring and scratches when drying the paintwork after a wash is to WAX WHILST WET method.

Wash the vehicle, blow dry most of the water, then apply your favorite liquid wax with an applicator foam pad. Then buff or wipe with a good quality microfiber cloth.
