Force of habit with older bmws to turn off the lights when I get out. But when I unlock , the welcome angel eyes do not come on unless I've left the lights in the headlight or auto position.

I think you're better off just trying hard to learn you don't have to touch the dial....I mean it shouldn't take that long to break the habit I would think.
