I was under the impression that BMW Xdrive is a rear biased system so if anything shouldn't the rear be more worn? I've since rotated my tires but can't help but wonder if there's something not right with my car?
From what I've read BMW's Xdrive is more of a traction related feature. Head hard into turns all the time and like it or not your front tires will probably show more outside edge wear than the rears. Rotating every 5k will at least even it out, so all 4 of your tires will show outside edge wear from hard cornering. Rotating will increase your overall milage on a set of 4 tires.

But the flip side is driving overly careful to prevent wear is no fun!
