For anyone visiting this post, EGR Coolers came from a number of suppliers. The recall inspection determines which cooler is fitted to your vehicle. If it's from a specific supplier(s), they replace it, regardless of condition. 60-70% of vehicles subject to the recall have the suspect cooler. In UK at least, they'll provide you with a courtesy car during recall work even if your vehicle is out of warranty. My X5 was out of warranty when inspected, parts were on back order and they wouldn't release my car, but they did give me a new 6 Series with only 500 miles on the clock. Had the loaner for 3 weeks
