Hmmm...I see. Well, happily, I have a solution.

To make up for the obscenely low offer that they accepted because they are desperate, I would suggest you offer them a month of home cooked meals.

Then, immediately request a month of frozen home cooked meals from your mother in law. This will make your mother in law feel appreciated and needed, which is a win for you and for her. Admittedly, probably also a strange departure from past history, but these are desperate times.

Then, provide the meals your mother in law cooked to the family you ripped off and pass the meals off as ones you have prepared (and this is critical). This provides them with food for a month, which is a win for them.

AND, even better, if your MIL's food is really as bad as you make it out to be, that family will reach the conclusion that they feel very sorry for your family that they have to eat this all the time and they will no longer feel bad about their own circumstances of having been ripped off because comparatively, they are in a better place than your family. Which is a win for you.

See? Win-Win-Win (yes, a strange triple win - but you win, they win, and as an added bonus, I threw in your mother in law to the equation for an additional win).

You have love how people can come together on these boards to create an international solution to a problem caused by a milk shaming Finn.
