I drive in the metro NYC surrounding areas and with my 20" summer RFT with 30 in the front and 35 in the rear have had zero issues with potholes so far. Of course I try to avoid as many as possible but there have been several times where I could not... my wheels are fine. I think OEM wheels have become much stronger than it used to be 5+ years ago.. There are many owners here who are rolling in 22" with non RFT all season tires without issues as well.
