I went with the icar2 as well for the same reason that you did. The reviews I read were better, and they had the reader in Black/Green (I've been a Green Lantern fan for decades!)
Now the one thing I wish it could do, and maybe I just haven't sent the option within the App, but the ability to "batch code" would be nice. I made the mistake of selecting each item I wanted to code, then selected code only to find out it only coded one of the selections. This led me to believe that coding in bulk (batch) isn't possible with the App??? I haven't contacted the Dev since it's not a big deal for me.
Anyone know if batch coding is possible when using a computer?

I was able to select many options within one module, then select code and it worked. The only option I can't get to work is the blinker to 5 from 3. I'm going to try the expert mode as advised in the post above.
