In CO, we mostly have sunny days. however, when it snows, it's nasty! Because they don't plow snow here that diligently (relying on sunny day that will come tomorrow, I guess). I personally don't ski so I don't go up 'the mountains' that often at all. However, I still need good set of tires to go out and about (again, the roads are not plowed properly). I never had to have winter tires. All season tires were enough for me. I got mine (winter non RFT tires) installed today. I politely expressed my concerns to the GM that I wasn't informed about the summer RFTs that came with the car and almost ran into accident when it snowed last time. He was very nice and offered to cover 1/2 of the winter tires cost ($700!).
