However, it's aftermarket afterall Rolex Service Center will refuse it when one's watch needs service that's a con for using aftermarket parts or mods
the differnce though is a strap is a strap which is an easy change. changing a dial means the watch comes apart. Best bet for op would be to buy an original watch and if you want, have the dial changed yourself by someone you can trust. atleast you know who did it and what, and also have the original parts. I would not buy a watch that has already had a dial changed, you simply dont know what else may have been done. for all you know they changed teh dial while doing another repair on the cheap.

Changing strap = changing exhaust tips
dial = changing cams

a lot more complicated changing cams than exhaust tips
