I would go to BMW software website and update your idrive. Mine was not up to date. You just copy the upgrade file to a usb stick. I did this to my 2015 and everything went fine.

Same here, once updated on mine album art started populating and showing but will say its still several seconds during song changes for it to show.

Annoying but at least it updates, and does not say unknown artist have the time.
