Hi Gang,
I come to you in hopes of wisdom and guidance
. The past 10 years I have been lurking over on the e90/e92 side of the tracks. My past 3 BMW's have been a 2006 325i, 2008 335i, and a 2013 335is (I miss her dearly). My most recent event was in October 2017, I sold my 335is and purchased a 2017 Prius Prime. The Prius has honestly been "fun" in a completely opposite way, averaging about 60mpg on my 80/20 highway/city commute of 75-100 miles. With that being said, the car does not inspire any true driving dynamics like the 3 series did. Nonetheless, I plan on handing over the Prius to the lady in the fall to replace her Camry that needs to find the nearest cliff.
Now, I am interested in having more space and practicality, and I have been kicking the tires on getting back into euro game, and picking up a 2015 X5 35i with hopefully a little warranty and CPO. After reading many threads on maintenance and cost of ownership, I am looking for advice from the crew here regarding picking up a X5 for my roughly 100 mile daily commute. Also, my job compensates me for fuel, so gas and a monthly stipend are in play here. Here are a few questions I am really interested in:
Is the car comfortable?
Is it fun?
Would you buy all over again?
The safe play would be to go buy a new Highlander, however I feel that I will be equally as bored if I went that route.
I look forward to your experiences and advice!
Thanks.
