If you run the numbers, our cars depreciate $50 a day. Every day, whether you're driving it or not. That's not counting any operating expenses. Winter tires will run you about $1200 mounted and balanced, and they'll last you at least 3 years. That's about $1 a day. That's a 2% additional expenditure.
If you wanted a mediocre driving experience at minimal cost, you bought the wrong car.
