In the winter I always set my Auxiliary Heating to on before I leave home.
Got in the car this morning and it was cold. I thought maybe I had forgotten to set it the night before so I checked the settings display in iDrive and there was no time selected....my clock has no time..my sat nav said I was not going to arrive at my destination and the trip display had zeroed out!
I went into settings and time/date on the menu and ticked the auto UTC box.
Everything then re-set itself for the correct GMT +1 time...VERY ODD

This has happened to me too.
I would guess from the vehicle sitting overnight the heater core turns cold and just blows out cold air since the vehicle is not running.
I would say if the vehicle set just for a couple of hours there would still be some thought of heat left in the heater core. But for sitting overnight I would think not.
