So after a few PM exchanges with
MattBianco, we were able to determine the problem with my install was actually due to my X5 firmware being more current than what bmw.com/update was allowing me to download. My X5 is running the latest firmware (MN-003-003-01, TN-003-003-01)
I will post back with details if I experience issues again.
