As we pulled the new X6 into the garage for the first time, noticed a number of scratches on the interior poplar wood trim. May not have noticed in the daylight glare but the fluorescent lights made the scratches easy to see.

Before taking delivery of the car we asked the dealer not to wash the exterior as we were taking it directly to a detailer to have CQuartz Finest applied.

While I was worried about the dealer scratching the paint, I never imagined the wood trim would be scratched on a brand new car.

My wife takes it in Thursday to show them but what can they do? I suppose they could replace the trim but I’ve never seen things go back the same way once removed and replaced.

The dealer has been great to work with so far so I am optimistic they will find a resolution but come on!

If regular joes like us know how to carefully wash and clean a car, you think a dealers detail shop could routinely clean cars that easily exceed $100K without damage.
