Engine Oil Level Low - Add 1 quart
Hello,
Got an engine oil level low message on 2017 X5M- add 1 quart as soon as possible. Went to local dealer and was attended to by service manager himself. He said they have been notified by BMW that when the V8's give an add 1 quart oil for top up they should in fact add 2. Despite feeling it would be better to just add 1 quart at a time, trusted him and went ahead with adding the 2 quarts in one go.
Am now a little worried however about having possibly overfilled and may lose some sleep over this so any information about what to think about this scenario would be welcome. Has anyone else gotten the memo about add 2 if it asks for 1? Does the idrive check oil gauge freak out and give a max warning message for too much oil or does it quietly let you choke it to destruction?
