My fiancé has an m4 and I run both the X5m and M2C. There all so different it's hard to choose and everyone's needs and perspective are different.
For where I live the M2C is my favourite daily, it's clearly the lowest quality of the 3 but it just feels so right when I'm in it and it's small.
The m4 is viscous and you need your wits about you but has so much drama and
The X5 is like a quality chair in a quality living room that goes soooo well and it's mind blowing what the vehicle can achieve, a real credit to BMW. If I have a long drive the X5 is the choice, it's safe, comfortable quiet and very docile but you have that button which changes everything then it's comical when the usual suspects think it's a diesel.
