Actuator shouldn't produce any metallic noise, so the only thing left is the flap itself. Unluckily, I don't know a way to check the flap condition without getting the turbo off the car.
Is there a way to check the wastegate flap play without dismantling the turbocharger/exhaust?

Before my last visit to dealer where it got approved I had a indy do a thorough inspection with the car on a lift the shop did all sorts of tests revving at certain rpms on P,N,M1 and D while someone listening under with a stethoscope and they found it coming from lower engine block near the turbo.
