Help isolating the cause of this whine /sound in my 2015 X5

Hi all,

Would appreciate if anyone has ideas of what this sound could be. I suspect maybe a pulley tensioer or maybe the alternator bearings starting to go, but I am not sure.

Video of the sound is here:

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like something driven by the serpentine belt. Water pump, alternator, a/c compressor, power steering pump; something with a shaft and bearing. Stethoscope and flashlight will help isolate. If water pump, typically there's a coolant leak as the seals go too. A/C compressors tend to screech then seize. Tensioners get loose with belt damage/dust. Alternators tend to seize. Good luck hunting.
