Wheel rust
1 year old G05 here.. My wheels seem to be developing rust in the inner rim as shown in the pic... is this easily removable and preventable in the future? I generally use a wheel brush and brake dust remover to clean them.

What you're showing is a pic of the brake rotor and the "hat" that covers the wheel hub. This is BMW's one piece rotor design.
Given the type of material BMW commonly uses, a little surface rust here is not unusual. Often acidic wheel cleaners will contribute to this problem so I highly recommend a pH neutral wheel cleaner and take extra time to rinse brake parts well after washing wheels.

Do you think I could use light sandpaper to sand the rust off, then perhaps seal the surface with something like Crystal Serum or some other ceramic coating? |
