I wonder if the F90M ones work. https://burgertuning.com/products/bm...-tips-set-of-4

I contacted Yomato and they said the CF finishers don't require any cutting or welding, that they fit over existing tips. I didn't believe them and thus declined to purchase.
The stock tips are about the only parts on my car that aren't black or CF. |

I think they would work. I think it’s just miscommunication. So they should fit over the existing “bare” tips. So no cutting, welding, etc. but you would have to pull off your OEM “sleeve finisher” tips. Just as you would if you installed any brand’s tips. I removed my tips from my M3 (E92 iPE) for the carbon M performance tips, look just like Yomato, and they slipped right on and used a clamp with a tightening nut. Maybe they only slip on until the lock notch on your X5M. On my F80 M3 they had the little lock notch and I used BMS tips that sleeve and lock in exactly like the OEM tips. Simple removal and jam. I think the F90 has the same lock notch but now it looks like the BMS replacements for the F90 used centering bolts instead.

Don't bother with Burger Tuning's tips, even if you find it. The burnt blue one's I have for F80 began to fade and showing the silver/steel underneath after about 2 months of driving and heating. I will have to get the powder coated.
It's may be why Burger Tuning stopped carrying them. |

A year or so ago I got the bms m4 tips after finding a post somewhere about modifying them for the f85.
They have been great and slip over the existing pipes. Recently I wanted to cut down on chrome so swapped the side vents and grills for black and changed the boot badge to black too The exhaust tips I got off even though the fitting post said they won't come off so I'll put photos on showing the tabs that catch and have to be manoeuvred out of the way for future searches. The tips were painted with gloss black calliper paint and topped with the same clear coat. I was going to powder coat but after reading posts from all makes saying about temp issues I decided to try paint. Better photos later |

I did like ceramic coating but speaking to a company the price was high, about 5 times powder coating and 10 times the rattle can price. I did see there are high temp powder coatings that are available but the few companies locally didn't do it.

So, are you saying you found black tips that slide over the exiting (welded on) tips on the X5M? Or, did you have to cut the existing tips off? Whatever you did, it looks great. My '17 M should arrive this week and like most, the outside stock tips are corroded and awful looking. Thanks for any further details.

There burger motorsport tips for the m3/4. They slide over the top and the tang shown in the photo drops over the back of the existing chrome tip (if you need to remove you put in a screwdriver and ease down the existing chrome tip until it comes past)
I found a post somewhere a few years ago and you cut off the springy bit inside the tip as suggested My exhaust is standard underneath with no cutting, there may be some scratching to chrome though |

So it doesn't look like burger has them any longer, but I think these are them.
https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-2...f80-m3-f82-m4/ Now do I want to take the fitment chance at $400. Guess I should wait for my X5M to actually get here!! |

were the old tips welded on? I got the same tips but it's been a challenge trying to get the tips off, and I dont want to break it - my old tips on the M4 came right off, not the case for my 17' F85 and I am wondering how i can tell, the area where the tip is connected to the pipe doesnt look like it's welded, there is small space that i can slide the W40 tip through, I'm not sure tho - it just won't come off.

The f85 tips are welded hence the bms tips as they slide over the existing chrome tips with no cutting just slight modification to the tips. You should be able to see in the photos above the tips and the original exhaust

Thx guys, you were right - they are def welded on from two sides towards the bottom, that said It has been an interesting experience, I managed to get them off, and I have just the pipe - still won't fit, they go in about quarter of the way but thats about it. They are 2.8 inch in and 3.66 inch out.
I'll either have to weld the old ones back on or find a direct fit somewhere out there, very tough to do. |
