Passenger Restraint System Fault
Hello,
Yesterday while starting the car from a full night parking the Passenger restarting system light went on my 2016 40e, while looking around online this is possibly due to a fuse ? I cant seem to find the fuse chart anywhere.... Also is it possible to try to clear the code with e-sys or such ? If so can some one please share the latest available tool ? Thanks advance. |

Did the fault notification just seem to randomly appear? Then after driving around for a bit, did it just disappear?
I had this happen ever since I took delivery of the car 8 months ago. I brought it up with the dealership and they checked the system and said there were no faults. Then they said that sometimes when the seat gets wet (e.g. rain or snow) the fault comes on. They suggested I turn on the seat heaters to dry off the seat. I've brought this up with service twice and told them it happens even on dry days, and the same thing both times: told me no fault code; turn on the seat heater. ![]()

Fuse diagram should be printed on a card folded and placed in a clip next to the fuse box.

I had a similar issue on another vehicle that eventually resulted in a recall being issued for one of the airbag connectors; connector replaced, no more problem.

No worries....I've been accused of being blind, deaf, dumb and unfortunately not mute many times.

OK so, maybe the wet theory is correct, Thursday night it went away. It has been a very strange spring/early summer with lots of colder weather and a lot of rains...

Sorry to awake the old thread, but did anyone has a solution to this? I really do not feel like to waste time by going to dealer. My car started to show me this " passenger restraint system fault" yesterday night, after sitting on airport parking lot for 4 days.

My F01 740i 2011 had a Passenger Restraint light come on yesterday morning while driving over rough pavement.
After researching on here, I realized I had spilled a little bit of water from a partially opened bottle... I turned the seat heater and ventilation on for a while last night, and this morning the warning was gone! Thanks for all the great help we get here! |
