I just paid $75, and I'm just waiting for the USB Thumb Drive and the Lifetime Code to arrive in the mail. I choose the USB Thumb Drive over the download, specifically because the download is a zip file, that would require to be unzipped, and transferred to a USB Thumb Drive for installation into your vehicle.
I didn't want for their to be any issues, with the download or unzipping the file, although I know how to do it. I just wanted peace of mind, with just inserted the drive, inputting the Lifetime code and watching it update. Besides any additional future updates are only $35 and you can't beat that. As Bimmer-Tech wants $125 for theirs, and the dealership charges about $150 for their updates. This is the best deal currently out there.

The map is around 23 gig zipped. You need that file and a FSC code (lifetime or not) if you're passed your 3 free years of updates from BMW depending on the country.
As for the iLevel, check here. It must work for our car also https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1638904 For the update, you can either go to the dealer or learn how to do it with the correct tools (a bit riskier). As for myself, around once a year, I ask the dealer to do it. Gracenote is the database behind the music recognition for cds and digital files |

Sadly, the website is barely updated. You have to update the iLevel with the correct tools or ask the dealer to update the car (either free or by paying depending on your relation with the dealer)
