x5 35d error codes

Hey Guys,

I am looking to buy x5 35d and as part of my pre-purchase I pulled the codes and got bunch of codes. See attachment for full list. However, the most concerning ones to me were these; I have no clue what they mean. If someone could shed some light on them, it would be awesome. My google-fu is failing me.

Definite problem with injector, it’s either leaking at the nozzle tip or the injector is clogged or stuck ie carbon build up or problem with the injector internal mechanical, either or it’s sensing a deviation in fuel delivery Ista/d is needed to diagnose. Will need to remove and inspect to see if it needs cleaning or need to replace.

It does on my e92. But for whatever reason it didn’t pop up on this vehicle.

Car still has warranty for about 2k miles. It’s in fl and I live in va. It will take me about 1000 miles before I get home. So that leaves me with 1000 miles to have everything sorted out by bmw.

Should I pass on the car?

If CEL is not on, BMW most likely will refuse any warranty repair.

There is no CEL.

I was thinking about taking it to the dealership and complaining about hesitation (misfire condition) and lack of power. That way they have an open record about the car and maybe I can work with them to get it sorted out after the warranty ends.

What do you think?

The last thing I want to do is spend $30+k on a car and then additional 5k on silly repairs. I looked up the injectors and it seems like they cost about $150 each, but require special tool. My big concern is if the injector was leaking for a while and caused oil to dilute - thus resulting in engine going bad.

That's why I was asking about mileage: if the code happened long time ago and didn't re-occur, I wouldn't worry much. If the problem is still there, it would definitely show up on your trip from FL (along with CEL). If Carly doesn't show mileage, check emission readiness - if one or several sensors aren't "ready", CEL may have been recently cleared.

BTW, replacing all 6 injectors is around $1.5k parts/labor.

Good point. I forgot to pull readiness status. I was so fused on the codes and used car check.

If you are worried, pass on it. Lot of other cars out there.
