Yellow engine light
I have yellow engine light showing only now and then, not always.
It seems to come up when the car has been running for some while (even though turned off in between). I have used bimmerlink to read the codes I was wondering if anybody can lead me to the issue? It is a BMW x5 E40 F15 - USA They are following: Info memory Date: 6.4.2023, 16:10 VIN: 5UXKT0C57G0S78328 07 Accumulator-management electronics 2 errors 21F21A: VSM_EVENT_VEHICLESTATE 21F217: DM_EVENT_ZEITBOTSCHAFTTIMEOUT_ZGW 10 Central gateway module 7 errors 100600: Flexray protocol startup time is too high 101030: KL15 attempt without success 100100: Contact to FZM slave lost 100104: HW Weckgrund ZGW 100300: Commissioning could not be carried out because TAS is already busy 100203: DM software error info warning 100204: Message monitoring: no system context signal 12 Motor electronics 13 errors 1FBD05: Check control message (ID 807): Disconnect the charging cable 1FBD05: Check control message (ID 807): Disconnect the charging cable 215001: Advanced communication, intelligent battery sensor: malfunction 1 1F053A: DME, internal error, safety function: separating clutch torque and moment of inertia implausible 1FBD05: Check control message (ID 807): Disconnect the charging cable 21B003: DOBD-TFM fuel tank pressure sensor / temperature sensor - pressure implausible 1FBD05: Check control message (ID 807): Disconnect the charging cable 1FB601: Check control message (ID 450): Auto Start Stop function deactivated 215001: Advanced communication, intelligent battery sensor: malfunction 1B2301: FlexRay, message (EWS Information FEM, 103.1.4): missing 1FBD05: Check control message (ID 807): Disconnect the charging cable 215001: Advanced communication, intelligent battery sensor: malfunction 21B004: DOBD-TFM fuel tank pressure / temperature sensor Range or performance problem - pressure too high 19 Transfer box 1 error 440011: VSM_EVENT_VEHICLESTATE 1D Hybrid pressure refuelling electronic control unit 3 errors 1D0019: LINIF_E_RESPONSE 1D000E: LINIF_E_NC_NO_RESPONSE 1D0040: Watchdog reset 29 Dynamic stability control MK60 E5 4 errors 2 480A95: Wheel speed sensor rear left General Suspicion air gap 480AA7: Wheel speed sensor, rear right, General suspected air gap 480AC7: Wheel speed sensor front left General Suspected air gap 480A94: Wheel speed sensor front right General Suspicion air gap 3A Electrical machine electronics 2 3 errors E89400: Message (vehicle status, 0x3A0) is missing 222783: FUSI SPT No HV errors 22280A: HV power management: switch-off request cat 2 40 Car access system 2 errors 80402C: NVM EEPROM driver error 8040BC: IBS Wakeup: implausible wake-up signal 56 Roof function centre 3 errors 801A20: CAN_E_TIMEOUT 801A1C: LINIF_E_RESPONSE 801A57: Anti-theft alarm system: deactivation of IRS and inclination sensor via customer function 5E Gear selector switch 3 2 errors 5E0014: COMM_E_START_Tx_TIMEOUT_C0 5E001C: COMM_E_NET_START_IND_CHANNEL_1 60 Instrument panel 2 errors 93000A: FBlock with method: Sign of life does not arrive on time 93003F: MOST operation sender node: Error in the addressed function 61 Combox emergency call 8 errors 610019: NVM integrity check failed B7F314: SIM card not unlocked E14406: CAN message timeout GPS_PO_EXTS_MOST E14426: Invalid signal in CAN message GPS_PO_EXTS_MOST E1442C: Invalid signal in CAN message STAT_ZV_KLAPPEN E14413: Timeout of CAN message STAT_GANG_RUECKWAERTS E14414: CAN message STAT_ZV_KLAPPEN exceeded time E14437: Invalid signal in CAN message GPS_PO_MOST 78 Automatic heating and air conditioning 5 errors 780022: NVM_E_INTEGRITY_FAILED 780024: CANIF_E_STOPPED 4 78003E: IPDUM_E_TRANSMIT_FAILED 780066: Control unit: HW system reset 78006F: eKMV: Alive counter error 79 Rear-compartment air conditioning 2 errors 790022: NVM_E_INTEGRITY_FAILED 790066: Control unit: HW system reset |

Most of these errors are not related to the check engine light, I would try to clear errors in all modules and drive around until it comes up next time so you can see more specific information.

Ditto above…the CEL comes on when there’s faults created by sensors that are connected to the vehicles emissions system. So this would mean sensors that are metering air, fuel, ignition.
You seem to have a lot of issues that are electronics based…and they are all over the place which usually relates to a low battery voltage situation. How old is your X5’s battery? Is the original battery which could be up to 7 years old? You may have more than one issue…the CEL obviously…but you could also have some issues due to a battery starting to fail. For instance with your Central Gateway Module…KL 15 used to be ignition position 1 when a physical key was inserted into the ignition and turned to the first position. Not all electronics were activated…as when the key was turned to the 2nd position KL 30….or the start position KL 50. Today with the START button, KL 15 is still used but we no longer have the physical key….but still only certain electronics are operating at that point.
