You mean above the rear view mirror? Two plastic pieces that pull apart. Just use a plastic card to get in between them.

Yes, the map light housing. I usually hook up my V1 and a video camera by tapping into one of the ignition powered wire up in that area. On my prior E60's, and E10's (5 series), I never had issue in prying off with my fingers. (This is my first X's series) But. On the X5 (2015), got it home yesterday, the only thing came off is a covering plate for the light housing and the mikes... now there's no visible screw, nor are there any place where I can pry off. I'm wondering if there's any trick like what they demo'd in the dash cluster replacement. I appreciate any help I can get. Thanks.

You don't need to unscrew anything. This is why I asked for what purpose you needed to open it up. If you're installing it for a radar, follow the bimmerfest install.

Thanks Opasha..
thanks for the link... that solves probably only one of my issues, the second issue is my camera, it has a transformer that is approximate 1"x1"x3", it would require a larger space than what's behind the mirror box to be tucked away.... In my 5 series vehicles, I have always found plenty of room above the console to tuck the transformer away.... so do you know of any post that actually get up in the console, that would be even more of help.. otherwise, I will see if I can jeryrig something with that invisiblecord process that dmr posted.
