Certainly there must be an extra zero on that amount due at lease signing!?
That is insane. We got it for $1500 AFTER tax for 36 months with 6k down. Car has every option except night vision.

Is it safe to say the X5M is nearly the same in performance as the X6M?

Nice review!!!
Must be nice to have this for family hauler yet trackable on the weekend. I tracked my F15 sDrive35i once, and I was pretty decent already. I bet this F85/F86 X5M/X6M will be much better.
Makes me think......

Same money almost.

$948*36+$22K = $56128
$1500*36+$6000 = $60000

His deal was better....

@sam@bimmerpost

with respect to your comments about MDM (M dynamic mode) did you make use of this setting at road America in the M4 ? If so, are you saying that the programming is significantly different (improved, via more lenient) in the new X6/5M than the M4?
From what I recall, when I was driving with systems on in the M3/M4 at RA, including in MDM mode, I saw and felt quite a bit of DSC intervention (flashing light on the dash). I saw and felt much less intervention at COTA with the X6M in MDM mode and there was so little in fact that I never fully disabled it. It wasn't in the video, but on one of the tight corner exits I got really crossed up. I had put my foot down hard in the X6M and the tail swung out requiring a good bit of steering correction. I was amazed that it let me do that, under power, with the systems on.

Granted, Road America is a much bumpier track than COTA and this track surface could've contributed to the additional intervention, but from what I experienced, I would definitely say that the MDM in the X6M is more lax than the MDM in the M3/M4. My speculation is that the engineers decided to keep a tighter leash on the M3/M4 given its inherently less stable rear-drive layout. I also recall a segment in the X6M press conference where they mentioned specifically the leniency of the X6M to allow "drifting" in the MDM mode. This is quite funny because immediately after the press conference we were sent to the driver's meeting where the first rule was no drifting!
Cool! That's very possible. The x5m driver this past weekend said he was really enjoying how he could drift it in a corner ...

In the past, American cars have been given a dumbed down version of MDM. For example... Euro MDM is available to be coded into an E82 1M or E9X M vehicles. It is much more lenient and allows some wheelspin and a little bit of a drift/slide is also tolerated.. When Euro MDM intervention does kick in.. it cuts the power less and will allow the driver the ability to recover. However... GROSS errors by the driver can sometimes get too fare before any intervention occurs.. It's almost a little bit too much freedom when used on the street.. From what it seems.. the F8x M3 and M4 also have an American version of MDM.

Sounds like at the least the new SAV models allow a little more freeodom... perhaps because the All wheel drive system is available to help pull a vehicle out of an oversteer situation..

Nice video. Is it me but Sam looked like a midget next to the big beast. He is not a large guy whatsoever, he could barely see over the steering wheel. Why is BMW making these SAV's so dam large and expensive.

The X4 is the perfect size for us, but they need to make a true X4M!

Never ceases to amaze me how people are so centered on their own needs.

BMW IS MAKING THESE LARGE AND EXPENSIVE SAVS DUE TO CUSTOMER DEMAND FOR THEM!

We are not all one size. One size vehicle does not fit all. If the X4 is perfect for you then excellent!
The X6 is perfect for others... and you don't have to buy it.

Please sit down for the following:

an even BIGGER , MORE expensive SUV is coming. it's called the X7 and it will be shared with Rolls Royce
