That sounds very good! The best muffler delete I've heard so far. Wonder if drone is present or not and if you'll do more videos we'll appreciate! Thanks for doing this! Were mid resonators deleted to weld in X-pipe?

Sounds quite good. Looking forward to see the exhaust photos.

I recall someone saying in the past there are no mid-section resonators? If there are, x-pipe is one of the easiest mods to do to get better sound under load/acceleration. One of the very first mods I did to my C-Class...

Yes, this sounds good. Want to do this too. More pics and clips would be great if you get around to it. For $260 that is not bad.

I apologize for the delay as i have been extremely busy!! These are crappy pics but I believe the x-pipe can be seen from this angle. I tried to get pictures of the stock exhaust but kept getting side tracked.
So far, i am still loving the sound and I definitely have no regrets. I will get more videos soon.. check the 0-58mph or so video below. Better videos will follow I've also installed the BMS Stage 1 today as well so I will see if that alters the sound or not. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oZl...w?usp=drivesdk Last edited by TheLastDetailNV; 12-01-2017 at 01:22 AM.. |

Happy to be able to help for sure! There is no drone at 70mph the road noise is louder until you give it some throttle input.

Sounds great. Glad it not obnoxious in cabin. I took my muffler off on my 35i and it was overbearingly loud.
On a side note, The welds look decent but you should consider mandrel bent piping, as the crushed bends restrict airflow. Probably not a huge deal but something to think about |

I had to add an x-pipe to make the sound bearable. It didnt sound that good without it. Last edited by TheLastDetailNV; 12-02-2017 at 10:06 PM.. |

Wife approved so far. Took a quick video as my wife and kids were heading out. They chose the X5 as the vehicle of the day. Lol. You can even hear the little turbo whistle.

Wow that really sounds good. Was afraid straight pipes would be really loud. I had a Corsa on my old 335i and it was really loud but this doesn't sound really obnoxious. Especially if your wife approves.
If we were to find a local exhaust shop and instruct them on this, could you provide exactly what your shop did? I might go with quad tips. How is it during cold start? My 335i would be really loud an shake the neighbors house. Any issues for you? |

So you removed mid resonators (there's 2 of them in mid-section underneath located about under the front seats area) and welded a x-pipe instead, also removed rear muffler and instead welded extended pipes with tips to maintain the stock look? Just trying to gauge what exactly was done
P.S. I'm wondering if I go with downpipes - that may become too loud eh? |
