Considering dealers don't like to add too many options on their lot cars to drive up the price and deter buyers.

Oh ya of course. I'm sure that price tag was for a 50i. I didn't check the sticker prices on the ones I was looking at. Didn't think to do that for some reason.

Yes, the one I posted was indeed a 50i. Regardless, that’s X5M territory and won’t have that gaudy iced out shifter. That alone is worth the upgrade to the ///M.

I'm not fond of the front or the rear. The side profile looks alright but that hasn't changed much from the F15. Interior ( minus the gear shifter is totally an upgrade though ). I can safely say that I will skip this generation X5, since I have the performance boost of MPPK on my F15 that would equal the 40i power plant and the sound upgrade with MPE. I think the F15 will age very well.

Ya that crystal stuff looks like costume jewelry. In the X7 I would understand maybe as an attempt to make it super lux but in the X5 it's just out of place. And would much prefer something like the M5 has for the shifter etc.
Haha, the crystal thing is called "SAV jewelry" and female customers may like it! And for the male ones, BMW has the big wheels, side skirt, front/rear lips.... I'm sure someone in this forum will go overboard with the mods and make their X5 will look like a Christmas tree on wheels !!!

I don't like the black divider trim on the bumper, black piece tacked on the side vents, and super large chrome exhaust tips (too exaggerated + angular, just like what Range Rover is doing to their new models).

Interior and most of the rest of the exterior is looking nice, however.

It is bad. Inside of the exhaust outlet is a double tip exhaust. It’s weird looking

I saw the new G05 at my local dealer and wasn't impressed. The interior was a huge improvement but the F15 looks more classic BMW while the new G05 looks very Japaneseish to me. I'll be holding onto the F15 for at least another 6 years.

Completely agree. So dumb to put these cheap plastic inserts into the bumper and then terminate these bogus tiny round pipes just before it. Just sad and cheap.

The F15 is aging unbelievably well. Proportions are heavenly and has so much road presence without being overbearing.

Could it be some sort of cost-cutting? I know Audi now uses fake exhaust outlets on several new models; for example, the SQ5.

I saw an E70 X5 yesterday and even those have aged well. The rear and side profile of it look great. The grilles are a bit too small for such a large vehicle and the headlights are underwhelming, but overall a nice vehicle.

The F15, however, is perfect. The grilles are the perfect size, the shape is perfect, crisp body lines, real exhaust...drives like a race car.

BMW set themselves up for failure, post F15. There was just no way to improve on it, other than tech and interior. The exterior is just perfect.

I don’t see myself owning a G05. It’s not different enough to be desirable if you have an F15. The only changes, IMO, were regressions.

Well, I don’t think it’s aesthetics or performance reasons, at least I hope not. It must be a cost issue, even though it’s still pushing $100K.

And at $100K, only adds insult to injury.

IMO I think it's the automotive trend.. started from the 7 series/ Lexus LS and trickled down to the 5 series and X5.

I saw one parked in the neighborhood here the other day and I must admit I like the front grilles more in person. I was very skeptical at first but I think they look better than in pictures. They are still oversized but I think they will grow on me.

Now the rear is a different story. I'm not feeling it at all.
