Roof box

Hi probably a bit of a silly question but do all Bmw roof boxes fit onto the bars for the x5 (2017)?
The one I’m looking at on eBay is not the recommended one on the Bmw accessories site.

What box and bars? Or are you just asking generally.

I have the bmw roof bars and the box is a bmw 520l. My gut feeling says that it should be ok but just wanted to make sure.
