Are you saying Bimmer Retrofit is a repackaged Joyeauto for $200 more? Please enlighten us all.

Yes, I believe its the same product. Look at it, it has the same exact design & functions. Keep in mind The Joyauto wireless been out for 3 months now.

If anyone is interested in a group buy, I have the joyeauto sales representative Whatsup number. I will see how much more he can discount.. please write your names!

Bimmerretrofit didnt manufacture the same exact design by accident! I think they found a good product, put their name on it and resell it..
Interesting detective work! I myself would rather save $200 for the same product.

Here is another thread where CarPlay options are being discussed. On the last page I have a post where I suggested a group buy for the bimmerretrofit one you're talking about. We can discuss on there if you guys are interested.

AhhhHa!!!!!

Always good to do your research! Those crafty guys!

Well I sent them an email to see if their has been any tweaks or anything they have done to it to justify the 200 dollar premium.

We shall see.

Anyway it's good we have options! I'm just happy to finally have wireless CP now as it removes the need for me to do a ID6 upgrade and I get to keep full functionality.

Ok so this might have an obvious answer to some but are these both IDCORE products? I watched the BimmerRetrofit video and noticed something that said IDCORE pairing and then went to their site. Not sure how this helps the situation but I found it interesting if nothing else.

So Kate responded back said they worked with a manufacturer in China to produce and then it went rampant with copies.

Not saying their fibbing as it's happened to many people who develop things then the Chinese companies rip them off with cheap copies!

But either way if you buy from them you get a warranty on the part and good luck going over Alibaba as their sellers come and go.

I guess that's worth something

Why not go with the wired option since the phone needs charging all the time anyway?

Extra step. .

Same reason I payed for comfort access on my car so I don't have to take anything out of my pocket.

Soooooo lazy lol..... naaa I just like getting in and going and when I'm home it's charging and when I'm at work it's on the dock. Also when I charge in the car and it's in the center glove box I always and I mean always forget it!

I use Apple Pay, got my groceries and standing in line and ! Oh snap! My phone ! Gotta run outside and get the phone!

If it's always in my pocket I don't forget it.

They say it is, plug and play. No cutting or modifying needed. 30 to 40 minute install.

Plug and play to where? I looked at their site and the video but they are very vague about where the module is installed. Do we have to remove the dash trim? Or under the seats? Glove box? Center consol? Thanks.

Not sure they usually give you the instructions after you buy. But bummer retrofit has always been truthful with me and the past things I bought from them.

So if they tell me it's plug and play it's probably not to hard.

It's not their module. It's like every other company out there. China makes it and they sell it to all these foreign companies who slap their price tag on it. Just like the android units and companies like 4x4.

It's not any different. Save the money.

And it installs exactly the same as the wired units. Just a big box that you have to fit behind the head unit and plugs inline to the main wire harness. Super simple install.

They are not the first wireless solution either.

I know it's not theirs. Again the only reason to buy from them is if the warranty is important. I to will be getting it off the Alibaba.com, I'm always open to new stuff. Just happy I don't have to buy the id6 anymore to get the wireless car play.
