Update!

Installed it today.

Took 2 hrs to wire up and cut the dash to install, overall very easy to do. Did not even have to take the IP apart or remove anything other than the access panel under the passenger glove box.

Wired up the speaker to the OEM speaker wire and then just fished wires to the fuse box under the dash on the passenger side and wired it up to power, ground and ACC, She works wonderfully and goes up and down when the car is on and off. You can wire it up to go up and down with the volume knob but need a relay. And the white LED is a nice touch.

This was a quick and easy job. Just had to extend the wires a little so I could easily access the power block.

The speakers sound just as good as they where if not slightly better as the sound is more focused with the design of the unit could be just a placebo effect who knows. Overall very happy.

Now just need to upgrade everything else. Found Focal makes direct plug and play speaker upgrades so going to start their.

The unit looks just as good as the OEM unit and find no difference between them.

Lol. Pretty crazy what they will copy nowadays !

Was cruising the net and fell upon this jewel of copy-write infringement bliss.....

Well for anybody that wants the look and half the effort of retrofitting and possibly crappy sound at a fraction of the cost now you have a choice!

Theirs even cheaper versions as well.

This ones a straight up copy down the the aluminum topper and even the B&O text.

Crazy

I don't know about the series, but looks like Wanton Hey edition.

Scroll down the page and you’ll find a “carbon fiber steering wheel” with the shift lights in the rim for less than $200!

Ethics and legality aside, I imagine about 90% of B&O cost is marketing and R&D, so it's possible this unit sounds close if not exactly like B&O if it consists of comparable/exact replica components.

I'm no audiophile, though.

I just did, I get a kick out of gadgets like these and gives me something fun to play with. Will probably upgrade all the speakers at some point.

Paying 1500 for the real one is crazy but 250 to 350 for this one for 99 percent the same function I can stomach that.

I posted it because I remember some people as well as myself were wondering how hard it would be to retrofit the whole B&O system but everyone said it's not a huge upgrade over the HK setup, and just to go aftermarket as the sound is better than either system.

So this will at give me something cool to play with and once I upgrade the rest of the speakers can just change the rest of the speaker covers and should look pretty good.

As one poster has said, if they copied it and scanned the original and made a 1 for 1 copy it's posable it projects sounds better than the stock non motorized version. So it's an upgrade over stock regardless.

The other route is just to remove the B&O text then it will just blend into the HK setup.

I believe they make both branded and non branded models. The reason I went with these guys is their anodizing of the aluminum is more compliant to standards that won't fade over time. I'm sure for the most part the speakers are all the same.

Yea those are for another model vehicle I'd recon.

I'm wondering how the speakers are installed and how hard it would be if posable to swap them out for another brand speaker ....... like JL or focal or the like.....

Oh you mean the physical speaker itself? That's a good question, I guess you will find out shortly and can keep us informed

Looking forward to hear your review on the speaker build and sound quality. I may also jump on the band wagon if the sound is as good or better than HK sound.

I think it be a wiring nightmare, though i would like just the actuating mechanism and reuse the H&K tweeter speaker

Here's one for $239 about ($100 cheaper)

Yea they make the harness that plugs into the back of the stereo box. And it's way less complicated than trying to wire up the factory unit.

It comes with all needed wiring and instructions.

The cheaper one may have quality issues with the aluminum anodizing.... not sure. At least that's what I was told.

B&O has always been about over the top modern styling. They spend more on designers than engineers. From an audio quality perspective, I would take B&W over B&O any day, I'm fine with the HK .... it's a vehicle, hardly audiophile listening conditions.
