Huh....that's odd. Anyhoo, if it helps, here's how it was explained to me:

Without customer authorization (either written or electronic e-signature depending on state) on a contract addendum BMW sends you (in response to your request for deferral), the original contractual T&C's remain unchanged. And your payments are due in accordance with the original terms.

Upon further inspection It has nothing to do with deferred payments.

Really? On a lease payment account through BMWFS?
No, I looked closer and I've just been paying my financed account 3 weeks earlier than the due date.

So they end up sending me a mid month update saying I owe nothing until a date after I usually pay my bill.

I never really looked at it until now.

You are exactly right. It amazes how many people own luxury cars and other things on loan, but we are two weeks into a crisis and then think that financial institutions should be delaying payments. I could make a case if this keeps going on a long time, but literally two weeks.

Need to go back to old school financing and if you can't afford it when you lose your job, then probably should not own or lease it. Always should have a 6 months to a year saved for an emergency too. I am just old fashioned though.

Not trying to be mean, but just the cold hard truth.
Couldnt have said it better myself. It truly is amazing how many people own luxury cars or fancy homes who don't have a backup savings for 6-12 months in time of crisis. If you don't have that, then you really shouldn't be buying luxury items.

Nice of BMW to offer payment deferral though, but don't ever think they are obligated to do so.

Just a heads up for anyone Business contract leasing from Alphabet.

I had a five minute consultation with an extremely helpful and professional representative who arranged deferred monthly rental costs for my car to be reviewed in 90 days.

It’s too early for them to say what will happen going forward but it’s possible that any deferred payments can be added to or adjusted at the end of the contact.

Most importantly they were very helpful and understanding.

You can contact a representative direct on 0370 0120 392 option 4

This will save going through all the options.

Stay safe everyone!

Confirmed.. I brought my car in yesterday as I was at my lease end and the dealer refused to take the car as it was end of day and the last day they are "open" for business as a result of COVID-19 contingency plans.

After a call to BMW NA I was informed of the above and my lease extended another month free of charge.

Ring and ask them.

Never understand why people are too nervous to call their funders.

Your friend needs to call back and ask again.

They have to offer some kind of deferred payment option one way or another.

Just because you believe that doesn't make it true.

What I 'believe' is hard truth and facts which you're unwilling to accept.

Make sure you can afford the car next time.

BMWFS Canada

Hello all, I spoke with a representative for BMW Financial Services (Canada) and she told me they're currently not offering any sort of payment deferrals.

I'm wondering if anyone has gotten a different answer inside Canada? Is there something special I have to do other then just call they're main line?

I'm on a financing term, not leasing if that's relevant.

Thank you!

While things can change very quickly during this whole pandemic, BMW (Canada) Financial Services currently have no plans to defer payments for those in a lease or finance.

Their focus is on leases that are reaching maturity within the next 30 days. With lease return inspection companies shut down and with no inspection possible, BMW and the dealerships are trying to find a solution for these customers which may or may not include extending the lease.

For Canadian owners, any aid BMW Financial Services North America is currently offering does not include Canada and you should not expect BMW Canada to follow. Canadian owners should call BMW Canada directly or the dealership for more information.

In a time where there are many questions and very little answers, I wanted to put this out there. Seems like a lot of misinformation or misconceptions on what is or is not available to Canadian owners and them thinking that BMW Financial Services North America includes Canada - it does not.

Received an email today making notice that you may inquire about assistance on the week your payment is due and to not call otherwise to allow for the lines to be freed up for those who need to get through. Makes sense... Just a heads up!
