X5 CPO Purchase
5 Time BMW owner. Last two were X5 leases. I'd like a good deal on an X5 CPO purchase. I've gone through a few cars, but this looks promising. 2017 $59,500 sticker has 25,000 miles. I'm at $36,000, without loyalty. Is it a good deal? I've included the option list with the retail and consumer BS wholesale.
I appreciate any input. |

sDrive with no options for $36K is overpriced IMO.
Here is one with M sport for the same price: https://cpo.bmwusa.com/certified/201...KT0C35H0V96657 This is one is more expensive but way better equipped: https://cpo.bmwusa.com/certified/201...KR2C39H0X07351 Last edited by RED_Y_; 10-08-2020 at 11:11 AM.. |

Agreed, overpriced considering it's an sDrive and has almost no options. That long list of equipment posted above is all standard equipment aside from the Mocha interior & DA package. This X5 must have been a custom order, I don't think I've seen many F15's with so few options.
Also, and I probably sound like a broken record on this topic, by why pay a premium for CPO? The CPO warranty is now just 1 year w/ unlimited miles, so unless you drive a ton I don't think it's worth it. Not when you consider it's small duration, the additional premium dealers charge for a CPO'd vehicle, and the fact the warranty has many exclusions that many buyers are not aware of. It does not provide the same level of coverage as the original 4 year/50K warranty. |

Comfort Access and 360 Camera are two things I don't see spec'd that would be a must have for me. Multi contour front seats would also be high on my list as the stock seats get alot of criticism for not being comfortable.

I think most of the people here look for M-sport as a must, comfort seats are nice, your choice of color for exterior/interior, 360 camera and DA+ are must have for my wife. For me X drive is better vs S drive, LED lights, paddle shifters. Check out order guide for 2017 X5 so you better understand what was available.

Here's the optional packages & options I see available on 2017 35i models. I could be missing a few, but you get the idea - lots of optional equipment was available, and some of it you might really want

Speaking of, what's a resource to learn the difference between CPO warranty and purchasing a new warranty? I think we'll have the car about 2-3 years. |

Can't compare unless we know specifically which new warranty you're talking about. Assuming you mean 3rd party? Lots of options out there - inclusive or exclusive, which company, years/miles, deductible, etc. |

If CPO you have time, that depends on the dealer, some will try to avoid doing it at all costs some will do it no questions asked, especially if you complain about squeaky breaks
