'17 X6M Limited Tire Options? (21")

I have searched for all season tires, winter tiers and summer tires to understand what's available in the OEM packages (wheel/tyres)

Front: P285/35R21
Rear: P325/30R21

My dilemma is as I am currently running OEM Runflat tires (Pirelli) I feel tramlining whilst driving, if there's an imperfection on the road the car jiggles which makes it uneasy to drive.

So I would prefer All Season non Run Flats however there aren't any available..

Is the only option 21 " Summer/Winter Tyres swap out seasonally; if so.. is the best option the Pirelli Winters and Michellin Sport Cups?

I have seen others "stretch" their tires for the fit, how does that work?

Thanks for any help.

BimmerTy is the only forum member that I recall using the Accelera IOTS ST68 All-Season tires. Maybe he can provide an updated review on them.

Correct - if you live in a climate where you can't/shouldn't run summer performance tires year round, the best setup is 2 setups - a dedicated summer and winter wheel/tire package (vs. swapping tires on the same set of wheels every fall & spring).

If running winter tires, OEM 21" spec, the most popular tire I see being run by form members is the Yokohama Blue Earth (I see some guys running the Pirelli Scorpion too). Easily the best summer tire, OEM 21" spec, is the Michelin Pilot Super Sport. The new Michelin PS4S is only available in the rear size, so you can't run a matching set quite yet if you want the 4S.

Another option if you go with 2 dedicated setups is to run a 20" set for winter - you'll have a lot of tire options if shopping for 20's. And of course you could go to a 20" setup and run all-seasons and just have the 1 setup.

Sadly sold the F15 back in July but tires were performing well at the time. Just the standard outer wear on the front, inner on the rears. Only concern was if I had to replace one if I got a flat- hard to find the Accelera's online.

I used Accelera IOTS ST68 All-Season tires and so far is the best cheaper tires I ever own. I will recommended.

Thanks for the review, I may run this as well on my 2015 Xdrive 35i with these 21" 128 style rims I just sourced. I am just slightly worried about the transfer case malfunctioning. Any issues with that?

Why would it malfunction?

Transfer Case issues occur when you do not calculate your tire heights correctly. Its not the tire, its not the wheels. Its the overall diameter on both front and rear.

I keep reading about sizing up in wheels and people transfer case have issue. Sounds like, just as long as I have the correct size of tires, I would be okay regardless of tire brand. Accelera tires do not have that bmw star.

Thanks, so if I use the specified tire size for these 128 wheels, I wont have any issues with the transfer case? Im really considering these accelera all season tires.

You have to stay within 1.2% of difference. You are within that threshold. Same as a stock X5M (F85).

The F85 X5M comes with:
Original Equipment - Standard
Front
Size Speed Rating Load Range
285/35-21 Y XL
Rear
Size Speed Rating Load Range
325/30-21 Y XL
