I coded my F15 a year or so ago, but everything was wiped by a recent dealer visit. I'm trying to recode now, but can't get my laptop to connect. I have the latest E-Sys and psdzdata from Shawn, and E-Sys loads correctly showing F25 as a target, but "Connection via VIN" is greyed out.
I've checked my IP address when connected, and it sometimes shows a 10.x.x.x, but after I do an ipconfig -release, I get a correct 169.254.x.x. Can't seem to figure out what the issue is? If it helps at all, I'm running on a MacBook Air through Parallels, with a USB to Ethernet adapter. Any help is appreciated! |

So, I've read through about 80% of the pages.
Real quick question that I couldn't find the answer to. I am not able to connect to the X5. The instructions are for 3.18.4 Laptop shows 3.27.1 When I go to connect this comes up.. Any clues? |

I also use my MBP with Parallels to code. From my experience, sometimes I run into that issue as well. Assuming the trigger for your issue is similar to mine, when using a USB to Ethernet cable, sometimes I have to force Parallels to see the USB Ethernet then press refresh next to the Connection via VIN (I keep E-Sys connection pop-up open while I do all this). When that doesn't work, still keeping E-Sys with connection pop-up open, I unplug the USB ethernet, wait 10 secs then plug it back in. Once Parallels sees the USB ethernet cable, it sometimes takes a few additional seconds before E-Sys connection pop-up automatically shows the VIN (sometimes I get impatient and keep hitting refresh if it takes more than maybe 5 seconds). These 2 methods typically resolve the issue for me and maybe it works for you as well. If that doesn't work, then hopefully someone else has some suggestions to offer. |

I should be updating the entire OP tonight or tomorrow with Playtookies' helpful info and the cli code someone mentioned above for unlocking all doors when the vehicle is parked - I coded two 2016 loaners to test everything with the latest software, and that does indeed work. I have also found a much much easier code to make your Halos 100% bright with your headlights on and parking lamp mode. So, you do not need to even touch the FLE folder - I double checked it and the 0C was in fact changed to 0A in that third parameter without having to switch the three codes in each FLE folder. BDC_BODY: 100% Halos with your headlights: 1) MAPPING_STANDL_V_L_PWM_STANDARD change from 7.2V to 13.7V 2) MAPPING_STANDL_V_R_PWM_STANDARD change from 7.2V to 13.7V 100% Halos when parking (P) lamps are on: 1) MAPPING_PARKL_1_V_L_PWM_STANDARD change from 7.2V to 13.7V 2) MAPPING_PARKL_1_V_R_PWM_STANDARD change from 7.2V to 13.7V

For anyone who hasn't done the auto sport transmission- totally worth it. Much smoother. Cleaner shifts and doesn't downshift as much giving you a smoother ride in traffic as well.
I haven't played with the sport+ setting yet to see if removing the paddles will prevent limp mode so am curious if anyone else tried. Thx! |

In theory it's possible. It's just no one has done it yet. Maybe leo will be the first. Basically you add 2TB in your FA and VO code several of the modules (see page 1 of this thread). There were issues that came up earlier (pages 92-94) for those who didnt have paddle shifters (non M sport trim). Someone suggested to go back to BDC Body module (after you FA and VO coded) and make the verbaut paddle from active to not active. In theory the computer will not find fault. It's a non issue if you upgraded your steering wheel to an M sport wheel (with shifters).

Hey Guys.
I been searching this forum for activation/coding of RTTI. Real time traffic info. I have an X5 - F15 with basically all connected drive services and SLI activated. Can I code RTTI to work for me? Edit: If it helps you, here's my VIN 0H52503 + SLI retrofitted by BMW. |
