Was checking the crankcase vent hoses and in trying to disconnect the passenger side one the elbow on the turbo inlet tube broke off rather easily... For now I have it held in place with zip ties. Could be coincidence or maybe it was cracked there and that was the source of the code I had got. Code has never came back. Doesn't appear to be super hard to get to spot to change that inlet tube but seems to run fine how it is also... This is tube that broke. https://www.getbmwparts.com/oem-part...bC12OC1nYXM%3D |

They all crack like that. It's actually a pain in the ass to get to the inner bolt affixing the elbow to the turbo inlet housing. You have to remove the rubber hose couplings to the intercoolers and loosen the IC mounting to get at the bolts. I recommend doing both while you are there as I did.

Is wormgear good enough or tbolt? That's been my issue in looking at changing it. I don't even see a tool to buy large enough to clamp the big Oetiker style clamps |

Using stainless worm gear for now, but will probably change them to constant torque t bolt style when the mood strikes. Generic worm gear seem to be holding stage 2 boost fine though.

I figured worm style definitely work for inlet being Lower pressure Was concerned about outlets. Code came back about pcv vent. guessing the break caused it. On a good note the MAF cleaning made a dramatic difference for issue I was experiencing. No stuttering/stalling on first cold crank of the day today. It was doing it very consistent before I already bought the inlet duct from dealer earlier. Try to swap it this weekend. Wish me luck |

Made good use of extendable magnet to make sure I didn't drop a bolt or tool. Loosened intercooler bolts as you said. I mistakenly thought the inlet side had hoses but it was just the 2 screws on the end of the duct holding it in. No tbolts at auto store so went with wormgear for now also. |
